To “walk on water” may seem like a grandiose statement, but I assure you it isn’t always a grandiose feeling. Like many miraculous or supernatural events throughout the Bible, we read of walking on water as a miracle meant to inspire our faith, which it can, but truly, the reality of such is filled with so much more.

It may seem like a miracle that is distant from our lives when it is right there in front of us every day. What if walking on water was less a miraculous story or event, and more a consistent life path? What if walking on water was a picture of the reality of following Jesus through a tension of faith, viced between what we feel and Who we trust? What if walking on water was sometimes the only way to get into the place or promises that God has before us?

This book is a venture with the LeTourneau family across continents and seas, states and nations, through the streets of Ethiopia and many other pioneering endeavors. Walking on Water is a testimony laden path of listening to God, obeying His voice, and trusting Him to show up and be the big, faithful God we know Him to be!

What do John the Baptist, Katniss Everdeen and Fred Rogers have in common? They give us a picture of our call as parents and how to see our kids and their generation overcome the battles of the world and arise into the hope of their future!

Arise, shine, for your light has come! That's our call to your kids' generation, but it starts with you and I as parents first. A chosen generation requires those who are willing to go before them to prepare the way, and to point to the Light that is in them.

Our children were created for more than we know! And they are immersed in battles every day through all the influences of culture. It's not politics, schools or even churches that will win the battle for our kids and their future, it starts at home. It starts with us as parents as we take back God's vision for their lives and empower our children and their generation to discover their created identity and live out every purpose they were created for. We as parents have been entrusted with a generation not just to protect them from darkness, but to help them shine and push back that darkness.

This little light of mine, I'm going to let them shine!
